Ferro silicon manganese (silicon manganese) is one of the ferroalloys used in the steel industry. As the name implies, this ferroalloy contains major compounds of iron, manganese and silica, and typically contains 12 to 17 percent silicon and 50 to 70 percent manganese. This ferroalloy is produced by manganese smelting and quartzite in arc furnaces. Silicon manganese is used in steelmaking for oxygen decomposition, sulfur decomposition, and the improvement of the mechanical properties of steel by the addition of alloying and alloying elements.
Ferrosilicon manganese, which is mainly used in the steel industry, can be used as an alternative to ferrosilicon and ferromanganese for the production of various types of steel. In other words, ferrosilicon manganese is a ferroalloy with the efficiency of ferrosilicon and ferromanganese, which ultimately leads to the production of clean and impure steels.
Ferro silicon manganese is mainly produced in three grades: 14/60, 15.65, 17/70.
1. Ferro silicon manganese can be used as a substitute for ferrosilicon and Ferro manganese for the production of various types of steel, which has the advantage of being more economical and less harmful elements such as phosphorus, nitrogen and sulfur.
2. Silicon reduces the solubility of carbon in manganese alloys, so the carbon content is inversely proportional to the silicon content. As a result, another application is the reduction of unwanted carbon in manganese alloys.
3. Oxygen decomposition and alloying in steel
