Briquette is a product made of 'Direct reduced iron' and used in many steel making units worldwide.
The briquetting process is divided into two groups: hot and cold, depending on the temperature of the 'Direct reduced iron' inlet into the briquetting machine.

Hot briquetted iron(HBI): Its production process is at temperatures over 650 ° C. The characteristics of this type of briquette are its ease of transport and its resistance to oxidation, durability and high mechanical strength. This type of briquette is the most popular product for easy and safe transportation of sponge iron in the world. 

Briquette of soft DRI: Due to the limited production volume of soft DRI and its not-so-good properties, Briquette of soft DRI was never marketed as a commercial product. It used only for optimum use of by-products of the direct resuscitation unit. 

Cold Briquette Iron (CDRI or CBI): Cold Direct reduced iron is produced in many direct revival units around the world. And due to its low resistance to abrasion and poor mechanical specifications, its transportation and storage process is difficult and costly.
In order to address this problem and enter the world market, the new product was introduced as a cold-carbon briquette (CBIC) product. CBIC is a product that is produced in the briquette process from cold sponge iron. It has good mechanical strength and chemical endurance and is capable of storage and transportation.
