According to statistics published by the Iranian Steel Producers Association, 10 million and 828,000 tons of steel ingots, including slabs, billets and blooms, were produced during the five months of this year, of which 7.751,000 tons were used domestically, according to The News of Falzat. Therefore, the apparent consumption of steel during the five months of this year has decreased by 24% compared to the same period last year, which was 10 million and 144 thousand tons.
Also, out of a total of 4 million and 296,000 tons of total long sections of steel including beams, rebar, studs, corners and other sections produced during the five months of this year, 3 million and 197 thousand tons have been consumed internally, which is 21 percent lower than its consumption during the same period last year. From the beginning of April to the end of August last year, 4.23 million tons of long sections were consumed in the country. In this regard, the apparent consumption of all sections of steel bed including hot sheet, cold sheet and coated sheet has also decreased by 18% compared to the first five months of last year and has increased from 3.981,000 tons to three million and 265,000 tons.
