According to The News Of Metals, Saeed Samadi, secretary of the Iranian Coal Association on the status of coal mines in the country and their activities during the second six months of this year, stated: If the amount of production in the coal mines of the country is to increase, it needs a three-year period, so the production of mines in the second six months of this year will not change compared to the first six months. During the last five years, coal production in the country has been about 1.8 million tons and there has been no change in this figure, while coal consumption in the country was increasing.
Samadi stated: The increase in the price of equipment and equipment needed for mining such as ark and rail is one of the main problems of coal mines. These two products are now produced by Esfahan Steel Company and are not allowed to import them due to domestic production. On the other hand, we see that the price per tonne of rails in global markets such as China, Ukraine and Russia (Iran's imported market for supplying Ark and Rail) is about $850 to $900, but the price of rails and arks in Iran is about two thousand dollars. Therefore, it is not possible to hope to attract investors, as mines will also move towards bankruptcy and non-production under these conditions. Therefore, it is suggested that the rails and arks produced inside the country be sold to the miners at a global price. In this case, there will be savings for the miners to continue producing coal.
