Eu foreign policy official Joseph Burrell said on Saturday that the union had asked Moscow officials to reconsider their decision on the list of "unfriendly countries" for Russia, according to The Mehr News Agency, quoted by Sputnik.
"We call on Russia to reconsider its decision to avoid escalating tensions in our relations that have already deteriorated," Burrell said in a statement. The EU will continue to coordinate its position with its partners."
It also denounced the dissemination of measures in response to "unfriendly actions by foreign countries," calling allegations of such unfriendly acts unfounded.
It should be noted that the Russian government on Friday compiled a list of countries that do not have friendly relations with the country, including the two countries of the United States and the Czech Republic.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview that Moscow would not blindly include any country on the list of unfriendly countries, and that the decision was made after an in-depth assessment and analysis, and that the list might be reviewed over time.
Earlier, European Council President Charles Michel claimed that Russia's decision to provide a list of unfriendly countries would undermine diplomatic relations and be a tense move.
He went on to declare solidarity with the Czech Republic, claiming that Russia must adhere to the Geneva Conventions and that efforts to drive a wedge in the EU are going nowhere.
It should be noted that the Czech Republic began a diplomatic conflict with Moscow not long ago by accusing Russia of involvement in some of the country's past blasts.
