In its latest report, the World Steel Association said Iran's steel production grew by about 10 percent in the first seven months of 2021 to 17.8 million tons, as well as Iran holding 72.2 percent of West Asian steel production in July.
Iran's steel production rose 9 percent to 2.6 million tonnes in July 2021 compared to the same period of 2020, according to the Online Metals News and Analytical Database.
Iran's steel production reached 17.8 million tonnes in the first seven months of this year, an increase of 9.9% compared to the same period of 2020, according to the report.
In February 2021, Iran was ranked 10th among the world's largest steel producers, which has maintained the same position since that month, according to the report.
China ranks first to third in the world with production of 86.8 million tonnes, India at 9.8 million tonnes and Japan with eight million tonnes, albeit down 8.4% from July last year.
After these countries, the U.S. has produced 7.5 million tons, Russia with 6.7 million tons, South Korea with 6.1 million tons, Germany with three million tons, Turkey with 3.2 million tons, Brazil with three million tons and Iran with 2.6 million tons, fourth to tenth places.
