In the winter of 1396, the lime project was able to receive the approval from the National Iranian Copper Industries Company, and in May 1397, this project was handed over to the Mineral Copper Company through a tender, the implementation of which was key.
Then, unfortunately, the project was in a situation where we saw exchange rate fluctuations in three stages. When this project was notified to Kani Mes Company, the dollar exchange rate was in the channel of four thousand tomans and the upward trend took place for both the euro and the dollar; So that we saw the price of 28 thousand tomans for dollars and 32 thousand tomans for euros, and the needs of the project were met with these rates.
The purpose of implementing the Ahar Hydrated Lime Factory project and also to exploit the Gore Daragh Lime Mine was to supply the raw materials required for the production of copper concentrate by the National Iranian Copper Industries Company in the Songun Varzeqan Copper Complex. Before the construction of this factory, the required lime was supplied by Azarshahr company and from the second month of 1400 when this factory was put into operation, the copper company became self-sufficient in supplying the lime needed to produce copper concentrate.
It should be noted that to produce each ton of copper concentrate, three kilograms of hydrated lime are needed. The capacity of the first phase of this plant is estimated to produce 150 tons of baked lime per day and 10 tons per hour of hydrated lime.
