According to The News Of Metals, Turaj Zare, CEO of Iran Alumina Company, stated that only four companies in the country now produce aluminum, saying: "One of the advantages of Iran Alumina Complex is that it is the only manufacturer of alumina powder as the raw material of aluminum and produces 240,000 tons of this product annually.
He added: "Last year, due to the problems caused by gas outages in winter, the production rate of this plant did not increase. Therefore, this year all necessary planning for winter has been done which we hope to achieve an acceptable amount of alumina powder production.
In conclusion, the CEO of Iran Alumina Company noted that about 80,000 tons of alumina powder is consumed annually in the aluminum metal production plant and 160,000 tons are sold to other Factories in Iran through the Iranian Commodity Exchange, including Iralko, Almahdi and Salco.
