According to Fars News Agency's International Group, Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's representative to international organizations based in Vienna, described Iran as ready to resume the Vienna talks.
"It is clear from these statements that Iran is ready to continue the Vienna talks on Borjam," Ulianov wrote on his Twitter account on Sunday morning, referring to the televised speeches of Ayatollah Dr. Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
"Of course, it is not yet clear when these talks will continue," he said of the timing of the new round of talks in Vienna.
"In the negotiations, we will seek to lift the sanctions. The Westerners want the dialogue to be accompanied by pressure and threats," Dr. Raisi said in a televised interview on Saturday evening. We do not take a step back from the interests of the nation and we will not negotiate for negotiation. "We are pursuing a result-oriented dialogue to improve people's lives by lifting sanctions."
Earlier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, had emphasized in a telephone conversation with the European Union's foreign policy chief, Joseph Borrell: "It is acceptable." (More details)
The sixth round of Vienna talks to revive Borjam began on Saturday, June 12, with a meeting of the Borjam Joint Commission in Vienna, and on the same day Abbas Araghchi stated in a statement that the Islamic Republic of Iran would definitely not agree without meeting its key demands. However, the start date of the seventh round of talks has not yet been determined.
Washington says it is willing to lift sanctions against Iran only if the two sides return to their full commitments under the UN Security Council. Washington's claim comes as Iran's commitments are somewhat verifiable, but it does take at least three to six months for the United States to verify the lifting of sanctions.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has emphasized that, given that the United States has been a party to the violation of the agreement, it is Washington that must return to the agreement with the lifting of sanctions, and that the fulfillment of US obligations needs to be verified. Tehran, of course, has emphasized that it is not in a hurry to get the United States back to the agreement
