What is concreting

Concreting is a process in which concrete is poured into a place such as the floor of a structure, the foundation of a structure, the roof of a structure, the foundation, and so on. Concreting is basically done in forms that after the concrete has set, the forms are separated from it and the concrete is kept until it reaches 100% of setting.

Concreting the foundation

At this stage, concrete is usually purchased from the factory to build small-scale structures and transported to the site by a mixer truck, then poured into the formwork by pumping. Concreting of the foundation should be done continuously and in one step because the overall strength of the structure will decrease if the concreting of the foundation is not continuous.

Condensation

At this stage, after concreting, compaction and aeration is done by a vibrator for concreting with a depth of more than 15 cm and with rods and ingots for concreting with a depth of less than 15 cm.

Concrete maintenance steps

1. After concreting operations, the molds should not be removed for 1 day so that the concrete can absorb the necessary consistency well.

2. After removing the molds, we perform irrigation operations on concrete for 5 to 6 days. This prevents our concrete from cracking and can retain its shape.

3. We must be careful about the moisture of the concrete and not let our concrete dry because the evaporation of water causes the concrete to become hollow and reduce its durability and strength, so the moisture of the concrete must be maintained until the end of its setting time.

Roof concreting

This concreting is part of the concreting of the skeleton. After reinforcement and formwork, concreting is carried to the desired floor by pump, monorail or elevator, then concreting is performed. Of course, it goes without saying that roof concreting should be done continuously because in one stage, failure of concrete and time delay may reduce the quality of concrete.

Concreting in ICF system

As you know, the ICF system is a structural skeleton system. In this system, concreting is slightly different from conventional concreting and the temperature is in the range of 4 to 5 degrees. If concreting is performed at a temperature below zero in this system, the initial setting of the concrete with the same heat released will be difficult. Even in hot weather concreting conditions, the existing polystyrene mold does not allow the water in the concrete to evaporate and therefore the moisture remains until the final stage of hardening of the concrete.

What is the setting time of concrete

In fact, it can be said that the setting of concrete does not have a certain time and depends on various factors such as the temperature of the type of cement used, the amount of water added to the cement and other factors. But in general, the standard setting time for concrete is about 3 to 10 days.
