What is Frutitanium

Ferro-titanium alloy additives are called iron and titanium. The minimum weight of titanium in this alloy is 20% and the maximum oxygen content is about 75%. Ferrutanium materials are often found in very large lumps, sometimes weighing up to 25 kg, which are crushed with special crushers and packed in iron barrels.

Classification of ferro-titanium materials

Ferro-titanium materials are divided into different categories according to their percentage of titanium. In general, ferro-titanium materials are present in 65 to 75% percentages, which also have different uses. The classification of these materials is as follows:

1. Fructanium materials

2. Ferro-titanium material

3. FeTi material

Properties of ferro-titanium materials

1. Their appearance is lumpy

2. They have a silvery gray color

3. This alloy material does not have any odor

4. The melting temperature of ferro-titanium materials is usually between 975 to 1500 degrees Celsius

5. It has a density of 5.6 to 6.8 grams per cubic centimeter

6. Ferrutanium materials are normally stable and should not be directly exposed to water, acid or oxidation

Adding ferro-titanium materials to steel

Ferro-titanium materials are sometimes used in steelmaking, which results in much better steelmaking. This material is also used in steelmaking to refine grain.

In the steel industry, the addition of ferro-titanium to steel has a similar function to the addition of aluminum and niobium to steel, which is mostly used as an oxidizer. When titanium is used in steel, it makes the steel easier to ignite than before and its ignition is accompanied by a lot of light.

Applications of ferro-titanium materials

1. Use in steel industry

2. Giving iron more solubility than pure iron

3. Use of ferro-titanium as a deoxidizing agent

4. Elimination of nitrogen and sulfur in metals and casting

5. In stainless steels, ferro-titanium materials are used as a corrosion preventer

6. Adding ferro-titanium to the raw material of tools increases the resistance of various tools to any cracking

7. Production of carbides

8. Production of high grade stainless steels

9. Machine-building industries

10. Shipbuilding industries

11. Types of air transport

How to produce ferro-titanium materials

Raw materials such as ilmenite, profuskite and slag concentrate are also used to produce ferro-titanium materials. Titanium scrap is also used to make high-grade titanium, ie above 70%.

Available materials such as ferrosilicon-titanium are sometimes used to produce ferro-titanium. In this way, these materials are heated and melted in induction furnaces and electric arc furnaces up to about 1100 degrees Celsius, and then these molten materials are mixed together.
